Bow Valley Literacy Program
LITERACY IS A RIGHT, NOT A PRIVILEGE!
The Bow Valley Literacy Program is a volunteer tutoring program serving the Bow Valley since 1987. The program is hosted by the libraries and the Bow Valley Learning Council. It is funded by Alberta Innovation and Advanced Education.
Volunteer literacy tutors meet weekly with a learning partner, from September to June.
Learners are enabled to improve reading, writing and oral English skills. Families are encouraged to bring children to library programs such as Books for Babies, Wiggle Time, Tales for Twos, the Preschool Drop-In Storytime and the Summer Reading Program.
Our goal is to serve the needs of adult learners and their children.
