The mandate of Bow Valley Learning Council and Alberta Advanced Education is to provide quality education to the residents of the Bow Valley.
It is our goal that all residents be able to access any adult education courses provided. If, for any reason, you feel unable to participate in our adult learning opportunities, please contact the BVLC Coordinator by email (for quickest response) info@bowvalleylearning.ca or at 403-762-8114.
Specific courses can be funded through the following bursaries. These courses are indicated as bursary eligible on the course listings.

Banff Volunteer Centre Bursary |

To encourage, support and promote active volunteerism within our community the Banff Volunteer Centre is pleased to offer a one time bursary opportunity.
The following criteria applies:
- Any local (Bow Valley resident) volunteer who volunteers for one of the local non-profits may apply.
- Any Bow Valley Learning Council (*member agency) course listed in the Fall 08 calendar is eligible.
- Applications for a Bursary must be made before or on the day of registration for a course.
- To apply, please complete the funding application form at the back of the calendar AND on a separate sheet a brief summary of volunteer work, and a sentence or two explaining how the course will enhance your volunteer position.
- A single bursary of up to a maximum of $50 will be granted during each Bow Valley Learning Council calendar period (fall, winter, spring)
- Bursary will be paid directly to the recipient AFTER proof of completion of the course (the course must be paid for at time of registration).
*Member agencies are listed in the calendar and in a pdf attachment found on the Home web page.
Bursaries are awarded by the Banff Volunteer Centre not the Bow Valley Learning Council. The successful applicant will be notified by the Coordinator at the Banff Volunteer Centre.

Financial Assistance may be available through AHR&E or the student Finance Board.
Computer Courses may be eligible for a Rotary Club of Canmore Bursary.

Individuals applicants can claim up to the full course fee. |

Town of Canmore, Arts and Culture Cont. Ed. Bursaries |
|
The Town of Canmore is pleased to offer Arts and Culture Continuing Education Bursaries to residents of Canmore of all ages, interests and abilities. You can qualify as follows:
- Only residents of Canmore may apply.
- Only Town of Canmore courses as per Community Calendar are eligible. *
- Bursaries to be awarded for course fee only (and materials, if applicable).
- Limitation of one bursary per person, per session up to a maximum of $150.00 per bursary.
* All classes eligible for this bursary will display a large, semi-transparent "A" in the course description background as outlined in the Town of Canmore Community Calendar.
- All applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis.
- Proof of course registration may be required.
- Only a limited number of bursaries are offered, so register now.
- Deadline for bursary application is Sept 8, 2009.
